I had been laid off after only 3 months in a new role and it really affected my confidence. The feeling started to seep into other areas of my life, especially with my partner.

What did you learn in therapy and how did it help you?

I just kept thinking "what's the point" and my therapist helped me dig deeper into that thought and helped me see that I get to decide what The Point actually is. She motivated me to start working out again and it's been huge for my mental health.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about therapy?

That you can be very direct with your therapist and tell them what you need, if you want to move on from a topic, if you don't like something they said. You can be more selfish than you would be in a conversation with a friend or family member.
