Meet Shaye

Shaye Hutchinson is a Registered Social Worker who takes a deeply relational and respectful approach to therapy, grounded in curiosity and collaboration. She believes meaningful change begins with understanding a client’s perspective, values, and lived experience rather than offering advice or fixes. Drawing from her own journey with anxiety and perfectionism, Shaye brings authenticity and insight to the therapeutic space. Clients can expect to feel heard, respected, and supported in a space that looks at both challenges and strengths. She has a special interest in helping clients reduce distress while building resilience through a holistic, relationship-based process. Shaye invites you to connect and use therapy as a dedicated space to focus on what you need, at your pace.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Being a queer woman navigating identity, relationships, and belonging.
  • Living with anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
  • Parenting while managing emotional and mental load.
  • Burnout and compassion fatigue, especially in helping or caregiving roles.
  • Life transitions, identity shifts, and “figuring things out” stages.
  • The pressure of holding everything together while feeling stretched thin.
  • Balancing care for others with caring for yourself.
  • Making sense of how early experiences shape who we are today.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Warm and thoughtful.
  • Supportive and easy to talk to.
  • Grounded and non-judgemental.
  • Sense of humour.

Booking FAQ

Does Shaye offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.

We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.

How do I know if Shaye is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
