Meet Shannon

Shannon Gagnon is a Registered Social Worker who takes a client-centered, trauma-informed approach rooted in empathy, compassion, and trust. She believes the foundation of therapy lies in a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to share at their own pace. Having experienced her own healing journey through loss and family challenges, Shannon understands the courage it takes to seek support. Clients can expect to feel heard, understood, and gently guided while remaining the experts of their own lives. She has a special interest in helping individuals navigate trauma, stress, and life transitions before reaching breaking points. Shannon warmly invites you to connect and take the next step toward healing and growth.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Parenting and the challenges that come with balancing caregiving and self-care.
  • Childhood trauma and the long-term emotional impact it can have.
  • The immigrant family experience, including cultural values, expectations, and misunderstandings.
  • Mental health struggles like anxiety, stress, and burnout.
  • Navigating grief, loss, and life transitions.
  • Working in schools and supporting children, youth, and families in education settings.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • South Asian (Indian), and I was raised in a multicultural environment in Canada.
  • I understand the importance of culture, religion, and family expectations in shaping our experiences and how we seek support.
  • I’m mindful of how difficult it can be to talk about mental health in some cultures, and I create space to do that safely.
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Warm
  • Compassionate
  • Non-judgmental
  • Gentle
  • Supportive
  • Understanding
  • Approachable
  • Down-to-earth
  • Calm

Booking FAQ

Does Shannon offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How do I know if Shannon is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
