Meet Peta

Peta Stinson is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who takes an integrative, curiosity-driven approach focused on understanding what lies beneath symptoms and diagnoses. She believes therapy is about gently exploring the deeper stories and patterns that shape how people relate to themselves and others. Guided by a genuine respect for each client’s inner world, Peta sees it as an honor to help untie long-held emotional and relational knots. Clients can expect a safe, comfortable space where honesty and openness allow meaningful insight and growth. She has a special interest in exploring protective coping patterns and supporting clients considering psychedelic-assisted therapy with careful preparation and intention. Peta invites you to connect and begin uncovering the deeper understanding that can lead to a more fulfilling life.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • What it’s like to feel emotionally overwhelmed and “stuck” in patterns that don’t change easily.
  • How trauma and early relationships shape adult attachment, self-worth, and coping.
  • How relationship stress can impact mood, confidence, and your sense of self.
  • The mix of insight + practical tools people need to feel stable, grounded, and more in control.
  • Cultural humility, curiosity, and respect for your values, identity, and lived experience.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Warm & calm
  • Direct & grounded
  • Insightful
  • Structured & steady

My clients often self-identify as…
  • People from many cultures and backgrounds.
  • Individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed or “on edge”.
  • People living with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD/C-PTSD.
  • People with BPD diagnoses or traits (emotion dysregulation, intense relationships, shame, impulsivity).
  • Survivors of sexual abuse, sexual violence, and coercive experiences.
  • High-achievers and caregivers who look “fine” on the outside but feel depleted inside.
  • Couples navigating conflict, disconnection, infidelity, or big relationship decisions.
I’m the right therapist for you if…
  • You want therapy that is both supportive and structured.
  • You want practical tools (DBT/CBT) and a deeper understanding of patterns (psychodynamic/IFS).
  • You feel “too much” sometimes, big emotions, big reactions, or shutdown, and you want steadiness.
  • You’re living with a diagnosis (BPD, PTSD, depression, anxiety) and want real treatment, not just talk.
  • You want a therapist who can be warm and honest when something needs to be named.
  • You want to feel more stable in yourself and more secure in relationships.

Psychedelic Therapy

My interest in working with non-ordinary states stems from...
  • A respect for the healing that can come from deep inner exploration when done safely.
  • Curiosity about how the mind and nervous system process emotion, memory, and meaning.
  • A trauma-informed belief that people can access insight and change when they feel supported.
  • Training in psychedelic-assisted therapy principles, with a strong focus on preparation and integration.
  • An emphasis on safety, consent, and grounding—always.

Booking FAQ

Does Peta offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.

We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.

How do I know if Peta is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
