Meet Mandy

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Navigating different cultures, expectations, and aspects of identity, including the complexities of belonging, cultural identity, family expectations, and finding your own voice while honouring where you come from.

  • The experiences of being a woman of colour and the child of immigrants, and how culture and family can shape the way we understand ourselves, our relationships, and our place in the world.

  • Being neurodivergent and experiencing the world differently, feeling misunderstood, or navigating expectations that may not always fit. This has deepened my interest in helping clients understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and find ways of living that feel more authentic and sustainable.

  • The impact of adversity, trauma, healing, and resilience. My own experiences have shown me the courage it can take to make meaningful changes and have shaped my belief that counselling is not about “fixing” someone, but about creating a space where people feel understood, supported, and empowered.

  • Trauma, relationships, attachment, and identity, as well as the ways our experiences shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. I have a particular appreciation for those who have spent a long time feeling they need to be “strong” while quietly carrying a lot underneath.

  • Creating a therapeutic space grounded in warmth, curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. I strive to meet each person where they are and walk alongside them toward greater self-understanding and meaningful change.

My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • East-Indian

My clients describe me using words like…
  • Authentic

  • Warm and compassionate.

  • Approachable and down-to-earth.

  • At times quirky and blunt.

  • You want someone who believes therapy is a collaborative process. I won’t tell you how you should live your life, but I will be curious, honest, and sometimes gently challenge you when I think it could help.

  • You want someone to meet you where you are, without judgment, while also helping you move toward where you want to be.

  • You might have spent a long time being “strong” for everyone else, someone who feels misunderstood, or someone who knows something needs to change but isn’t quite sure how to get there. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come in. We can figure it out together.

Booking FAQ

Does Mandy offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs and your card is charged, you’ll receive a PDF receipt by email with all the details you need to get reimbursed (therapist name, designation, license number, address, etc.). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage. We always recommend checking your coverage with your provider before booking.

How do I know if Mandy is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who’s the right fit. Watch the therapist’s video at the top of their profile and see whether the message and energy resonate. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut — booking a free consultation is a great first step to assess fit.

What if I see no available times to book a session?

If the therapist is listed as accepting clients and you see no available times, it’s likely they haven’t updated their availability (sorry about that!). In this case, you can to see what times they have available.
