Meet Jason

Jason Bains is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who approaches therapy through an attachment-focused and trauma-informed lens. He believes growth is a lifelong journey and helps clients explore how early experiences shape their current relationships and emotional worlds. Drawing from parts work and dialectical behaviour therapy, Jason supports clients in developing self-awareness and emotional regulation. His own recovery journey allows him to bring authenticity, empathy, and a touch of humor into sessions, creating a safe and balanced space for healing. Jason has a special interest in working with trauma, addiction, and life transitions. He invites clients to see therapy as a place to build coping skills and move toward lasting growth.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • The challenges of balancing family, identity, and emotional well-being, as both a husband and father of toddler twins.
  • The complexities of addiction and the ongoing process of recovery, informed by my own journey now in its eighth year.
  • How struggle, change, and resilience shape the human experience, which grounds the way I show up as a therapist.
  • The impact of intergenerational trauma, and the importance of actively working to understand and interrupt these patterns in my own life.
  • The value of humility in healing work, recognizing that meaningful change requires continuous awareness, honesty, and effort.

  • You’re seeking a therapist who is both direct and curious, and who creates space for deep exploration and meaningful healing.

Booking FAQ

Does Jason offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How do I know if Jason is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
