Diane Brussell
Diane Brussell is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who offers a humanistic and compassionate approach rooted in authenticity and trust. She believes therapy is a space for clients to be truly seen and to explore themselves safely and without judgment. Drawing from attachment-focused work, Diane helps clients understand how early experiences shape self-relationships and patterns in connection with others. Clients can expect warmth, empathy, and a collaborative process guided by curiosity and care. She has a special interest in healing attachment wounds, cultivating self-compassion, and strengthening emotional boundaries. Diane invites clients to use therapy as a place to experiment, express freely, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
- The complex emotions of grief and loss, having personally endured the deaths of many close family members and friends, and supported others in similar circumstances through my work as a Hospice volunteer.
- The natural cycles of growth, transformation, and resilience, as reflected in my deep connection to nature and gardening.
- The impact of systemic injustice and interpersonal harm, and the healing needed for victims, survivors, and perpetrators—socially, relationally, and individually—driven by an early awareness of cruelty, corruption, and inequality.
- Cultural diversity and adaptability, shaped by extensive experience living abroad and engaging with many different cultures.
- The lifelong process of personal and collective healing, fueled by a passion to grow, become more aware, and cultivate compassion.
- The integration of mind-body practices, supported by ongoing study in somatics, yoga, mindfulness, neurobiology, attachment theory, and Transformational Musical Theatre.
- Eastern European, Ashkenazi Jew. It is essential for me to say that as a Jewish person, I am horrified by, and opposed to, the atrocities being perpetrated by state of Israel that undermine my understanding of Jewish values, wisdom and dignity.
