Shannon Freud holds a Masters of Social Work, and over a decade of working at Kids Help Phone, work in women's shelters, and community mental health centres. While she has extensive experience supporting people in crisis, she also enjoys going emotionally deeper with clients.
Recently, Shannon has been delving into Circus Therapy, to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings through circus apparatus, either aerial silks, hoop, or trapeze. This type of therapy has roots in Dance and Movement Therapy, Mindfulness, and Somatic Psychotherapy.
"Clients typically see me individually over video, on a regular basis, and at the circus gym on occasion."
Shannon is a natural empath who loves listening to other people's stories. When she was growing up, Shannon wanted to be a teacher that kids felt comfortable talking to, which she realized is what a therapist does. She says that she wants to be part of the social network for a young person who is growing and changing. She wants to be the person she needed when she was young.
