At what stage did you decide to enter private practice, and why?
During my practicum, I started in private practice and remained in a group practice as an independent contractor there. I enjoyed the freedom that private practice brought and knew that I wanted to stay on that path. About a year into my career and during the pandemic when everything was going virtual, I decided to start my unique practice. At this time, with the help of the group practice, I was getting more and more clients for my clinic, which led me to do private practice full time.
Why did you decide to work with the First Session team?
Owning my private practice can be challenging to sustain without clients. My struggle was in getting clients, so I knew I had to do marketing of some sort to keep clients coming in. I tried a variety of websites and marketing sources, only to find that they were incredibly pricey, and since I was just starting, I did not have the revenue to pay for these marketing sources. That is when I found First Session, and their pricing model and approach to marketing therapists impressed me. The price was low to start, but the agreement was based on how many clients came in, which served my needs. This model is crucial to anyone in private practice since clients can often come and go without notice.
Have you noticed a change in the performance of your private practice since partnering with First Session? Where was it before, and where is it now?
I have seen a drastic change in my private practice since I started with First Session. I started with about 1-2 clients in my practice, and within months, I multiplied that number by 4 or 5 times. I now run my clinic with the help of First Session and also have three associates that have been recently brought on through First Session as well.
What has your experience been like working with the First Session team so far?
The First Session team is highly responsive and guides me through any issues I may have with marketing. They work closely with me to target my niche to get the clients I want to work with. On top of this, they are serving the community by making it easy to find the right therapist through videos, descriptions, and outlines of what each therapist does. Every team member is kind and easy to talk to, which makes approaching them with new ideas and strategies stress-free.
How has your experience been working with the clients who are connecting with you via First Session?
The clients that come from First Session are always in line with who I am able to work with and who I want to work with. Due to the ease in people being able to peruse profiles and descriptions with videos, clients can see if it would be a good fit and the conversion rate after the initial call is upwards of 85%-90%.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The model that First Session offers and the community aspect within First Session is one of a kind. Not only does it help me fill my practice with clients I want, but it helps the community find the appropriate fit a lot faster and easier, which leads to more people being supported with their mental well-being.
