Meet Sandra

Sandra McGregor supports people experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties and a sense of feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. Her Gestalt approach focuses on the present moment, using awareness, creative exploration and attention to the body to help clients understand patterns that may no longer serve them. Decades of teaching in diverse communities and her own experience of losing a son inform her capacity to listen with openness and compassion. Sandra brings honesty, warmth and humour to a relationship grounded in trust, where clients can explore difficult feelings at their own pace. She helps them reconnect with their needs, discover new choices and move towards a more fulfilling life.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Grief and loss, particularly the death of a child.
  • Spirituality and the search for meaning; life transitions.
  • Creativity and self-expression.
  • Education and neurodiversity.
  • Living and travelling across cultures; and the restorative relationship between people and the natural world.
  • My own spiritual exploration has included Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism, alongside an enduring interest in how we make meaning of our lives.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • First-generation Canadian with Irish and Scottish roots.
  • My parents came to Canada from backgrounds of poverty and built a new life here.
  • I have also lived, studied and travelled internationally and spent many years working with culturally diverse communities, including Muslim youth and immigrant families.
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Warm
  • Skilled
  • Perceptive
  • Honest
  • Compassionate
  • Creative
  • Direct
  • Grounded
  • Engaged

Booking FAQ

Does Sandra offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.

We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.

How do I know if Sandra is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
