Mat Dean
Mat Dean is a Registered Psychotherapist who takes an existential, forward-looking approach, helping clients explore meaning, identity, and the direction they want their lives to take. He believes therapy is about understanding who you are and who you want to become, using insight from the past to help chart a path forward. He emphasizes the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship built on honesty, safety, and authenticity. Clients can expect a comfortable, conversational space where they feel free to express themselves without judgment. He has a special interest in helping clients explore purpose, values, and life direction. Mat invites you to share your story in a space where you can feel heard and supported as you move toward what comes next.
- Experiencing life through what strongly aligns with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and related neurodivergent qualities, which I embrace fully and would not change.
- Recognizing that the world can feel ill-fitted at times, not as a deficit or problem, but as a meaningful and defining feature of my life.
- Appreciating being pushed beyond the mundane, and valuing a perspective where “normal” feels limiting rather than desirable.
- Feeling deeply impacted by the ways humanity can fail to be humane, and being sensitive to systems that contain inherent cruelties.
- Holding a strong drive to understand how people, systems, and the world function, fueled by deep curiosity.
- Experiencing a sense of wonder about the complexity of the world, and a desire to keep learning from others and new experiences for as long as possible.

Areas of Focus
- Individuals who are seeking support, provided I am well-suited to meet their needs, recognizing that therapy is not a “fake it until you make it” profession.
- People drawn to exploring existential concerns and the “Big Questions” in life.
- Those asking themselves questions like “What now?”, “Is this all there is?”, or “What’s the meaning of my life?”.
- Individuals who feel a desire for growth, self-exploration, and deeper understanding of themselves and their lives.
- If you want to challenge your beliefs in yourself.
- You want to see where you fit into the world-at-large, what you can do for those around you, and how you can live a fulfilling life.
- You want “therapy that does not feel like therapy” approach - for those who may be tired of the buzzwords, cliches, and pop-psychology we are inundated with on social media.
Therapeutic Frameworks & Approach
- Seen and heard. I think what we all need more than anything else is meaningful connection. We are social creatures - we need to share our thoughts, express our feelings, and receive feedback - this is a huge part of what makes us whole. I hope to offer this connection.

Booking FAQ
First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.
We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.
You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
