Meet Kristin

Kristin Michie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who takes an integrative approach, tailoring each session to meet her clients’ unique needs. She believes therapy is not about “fixing” anyone but about creating a safe, trusting space to explore patterns, build awareness, and support meaningful change. Drawing from her own lived experiences with anxiety and depression, Kristin brings empathy, authenticity, and understanding to her work. Clients often leave sessions with greater clarity, self-acceptance, and tools to move forward with confidence. She has a special interest in helping individuals explore the roots of their patterns through a psychodynamic lens while staying focused on present-day growth. Kristin invites you to reach out and take the first step toward feeling seen, supported, and empowered.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • What it feels like to live with anxiety as a constant companion, and how overwhelming it can be when life doesn’t go as planned.
  • My own experience with infertility brought waves of grief, loss, anger, and depression, which are emotions that many people also face through other challenges and transitions. These experiences give me a deep empathy for clients who are experiencing their own unique obstacles.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • Northern European and I am a third-generation Canadian. My identity has been shaped as much by the Canadian values of diversity, openness, and resilience as by my ancestry.
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Insightful
  • Validating
  • Approachable
  • Supportive
  • Trustworthy
  • Perceptive
  • Genuine
  • Relatable
  • Compassionate

My clients often self-identify as…
  • Anxious, living with OCD, or struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts.
  • Many are exploring questions of identity, navigating life transitions, or working through challenges around family and cultural acceptance.
  • I also work with LGBTQ2S+ clients and those differentiating from their parents as they move toward independence and self-definition. My clients often come from culturally diverse backgrounds.
I’m the right therapist for you if…
  • You feel weighed down by anxiety and it’s hard to get through the day, or if depression and low motivation are making it difficult to keep up with work, school, or relationships.
  • You might feel stuck in a cycle of stress about not making progress, even as you struggle to find the energy to move forward. If you’re ready for support that helps you both understand what’s holding you back and build practical steps toward change, I can help.

Booking FAQ

Does Kristin offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How do I know if Kristin is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
