Colin (Heron) Payne
Colin “Heron” Payne supports clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, shame, and a strong inner critic. Drawing on his own lived experience with anxiety, he brings a person-centred and relational approach grounded in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and self-compassion. He begins with each client’s story and what they need in the moment, offering thoughtful tools without imposing an agenda. Clients are invited to move at a pace that feels safe; they do not need clear goals or have to share their deepest struggles before they are ready. Colin helps people feel seen and understood, build a kinder relationship with themselves, and move toward change with care, trust, and support.
- Growing up with unpredictability, relational trauma, and learning to stay safe by reading the room, adapting, or keeping the peace.
- Living with complex trauma, anxiety, periods of depression, and the shame and self-criticism that can come with feeling different or “too sensitive.”
- What it’s like to have a busy, overthinking mind.
- Feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in patterns you understand intellectually but can’t simply think your way out of.
- Losing parts of yourself through people-pleasing, self-editing, or trying to be who others need you to be—and the gradual process of reclaiming authenticity, boundaries, and self-trust.
- The non-linear work of healing: learning to listen to your body, relate differently to old survival patterns, and replace self-judgment with curiosity and compassion.
- Parenting while healing your own attachment wounds, including the challenge of interrupting inherited patterns, making mistakes, repairing, and trying to offer something different to the next generation.
- The search for meaning, belonging, and a more genuine relationship with yourself, including the role mindfulness, spirituality, and contemplative practice can play in that process.
- Living with ADHD, and the associated shame, self-doubt and burnout it can cause.
- Navigating the uncertainty and complexities of life with chronic illness.
- Attachment-based parenting of neurodivergent children.

Booking FAQ
First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.
We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.
You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
