Meet Cherrisse

Cherrisse McWilliams is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who brings a holistic, compassionate understanding of both physical and psychological suffering to her work. Shaped by her background in healthcare and her own lived experience with trauma, she offers a trusted space for clients to unpack what they may not feel able to share elsewhere. Cherrisse’s approach is client-centred, strengths-based, and collaborative, meeting each person exactly as they are rather than trying to change or fit them into a box. She helps clients identify their innate strengths, understand emotions and patterns, and grow through challenges at their own pace. Her goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where therapy feels like setting down a heavy load and beginning to heal.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Life’s most vulnerable moments, and the deep impact that change and hardship can have on a person’s sense of self.
  • How resilience can emerge in unexpected ways, even during periods of uncertainty, loss, or significant life transition.
  • The importance of approaching each person with empathy, compassion, and an appreciation for their unique experiences.
  • A strengths-based approach that honours both the struggle and the capacity for healing, growth, and meaningful change.
  • Creating a safe, accepting, and judgement-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.

Booking FAQ

Does Cherrisse offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.

We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.

How do I know if Cherrisse is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
