Meet Arooj

Arooj Rehman is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who provides culturally responsive, collaborative therapy rooted in empathy and genuine human connection. Inspired by her own experiences as an eldest daughter in an immigrant family, she understands the importance of working with a therapist who appreciates cultural values, identity, and lived experience. Arooj creates a warm, engaging environment where clients feel respected, heard, and comfortable expressing themselves through both difficult emotions and moments of humor. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, uncertainty, life transitions, and challenges that may be difficult to define, helping them uncover the underlying issues, clarify their values, and build confidence. Arooj's goal is to guide clients toward greater self-awareness, meaningful personal growth, and a life that aligns with who they truly want to become.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • The unique challenges and strengths that can come with navigating collectivist cultures as a BIPOC individual.
  • Living with anxiety and depression, which has deepened my empathy for complex emotions and behaviours that are often difficult to explain to others.
  • The difference between internalizing emotions and truly processing them, informed by my own experience of feeling deeply and intensely.
  • Navigating cultural and familial expectations while learning to establish and maintain healthy boundaries.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • South asian
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Bubbly
  • Understanding
  • Open-minded
  • Judgment-free

Booking FAQ

Does Arooj offer direct billing with my insurance? Or how does payment work?

First Session charges each session directly to your credit card. Once each session occurs, and your card is charged, you will receive a PDF receipt to your email with all of the details you will need to get reimbursed (therapist name, license/designation, license number, address, etc). You can then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have coverage.

We always recommend you check with your insurance provider to confirm what coverage you have.

How do I know if Arooj is a good fit?

You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Ensure you’ve watched the therapist video at the top of their profile and see if you get a good feeling from the message and the energy they are putting out. If you feel drawn to speak with them, listen to your gut! Booking a free consultation is a great first step to asses fit.
